FAQ

  • What information fo you need in your interest form?

Please include any information that you’d like to share with me about your quilt such as pattern used, the function of the quilt, and/or recipient.

  • Why is our lead time 8-10 weeks?

There is ususally a queue for both the longarm as well as the custom projects. I want to be realistic with timelines.

  • Where can I look at edge-to-edge design options?

You can look at the following locations:

Longarm League, Tiny Orchard Quilts, and Urban Elementz

  • Do you always use cotton thread?

Short answer, yes. I use Aurifil and Wonderfil threads. They are 40 wt cotton thread and are the higest quality.

  • What batting do you reccommend?

I will always recommend Quilters Dream brand battings. They have a batting for every project. You can provide your own batting, but beware, walmart batting is not great and breaks down early and easily.

  • How do you handle shipping?

I ship with USPS Priority shipping. It comes with $50 insurance, please indicate whether you would like increased insurance. I will provide a quote on shipping on your deposit invoice.

  • Why do you require a deposit?

I want to ensure that everyone has the chance to get their beloved items on time. The deposit confirms your place in the queue and guarantees that your project is here and ready to go.

  • What size does my backing need to be?

In order to give you the best results possible, please ensure that your backing fabric is a total of 8” wider and 8” longer than your quilt top. This gives me at least 4” on all sides for alingment and clamping. Your backing can be larger than this, but not smaller.

  • What if you have to make corrections to my quilt?

All measures will be taken to provide a quality product. Should minor issues arise they will be addressed. Issues requiring substantial correction will be discussed and estimated before completion.
